Part of a series of five colors, these plants from Darwin Perennials are earlier to flower than other agastache on the market, leading to an extended flower season.
They are more hardy in the southern U.S. but still perform well up to Zone 7. The scented flowers offer great pollinator potential, particularly for hummingbirds and bees.
This dense, mounded agastache can be added to combos with other colors in the series or provide flower-filled central height when planted with spreading or trailing annuals in patio pots.
PGRs are generally not needed, but pinching is recommended once roots have been established. This agastache is deer resistant and performs best in full sun with good drainage. It has no daylength requirements.
Summerlong Lemon performed well in 2024 trials and was rated best drought tolerant perennial in Mast Young Plants Trial Garden in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
