Water is one of the most important, but often most overlooked, resources for greenhouses. To maximize control over all inputs, it’s important for growers to make sure the water they use on their crops is purified.
Growers who are serious about perfectly calibrated, pure-water based nutrient formulas can turn to HyperLogic, the commercial water filtration division of HydroLogic Purification Systems.
Bill Perryman, the technical services manager for HyperLogic, says that “in any controlled environment growing atmosphere, water is the key element” and that “beginning with water that is purified is a key element in higher-yield growing by helping growers have healthy plants from the beginning.”
It’s important to note that ‘purified’ water means water that has had salts stripped out. HyperLogic’s water filtration systems purify water, giving growers a consistently measurable baseline to start from and build on. And to measure that baseline, HyperLogic provides all of their customers with free water test kits, so they can check how pure their water is.
HyperLogic also has several water conservation products that growers can use after they’ve filtered their water. These systems are especially helpful as water becomes more and more scarce, as they give growers ways to reduce and reuse their water waste. The systems can also help growers meet water consumption and waste regulations that some local governments enforce, which is common for HyperLogic’s customers.
Perryman says HyperLogic has “more customers now on the front side of it coming to us and saying, ‘Here’s what we’re being asked by our local ordinance. How do we work towards full compliance regarding water conservation and what products do you offer?’” Luckily for them, HyperLogic’s ahead of the game. “And the beautiful part of this is we’ve already come up with these units,” Perryman says.
HyperLogic’s systems can give growers water recovery rates “as high as 75% good water and 25% waste,” Perryman says. “And we have the ability to run even higher than that with some of our very custom systems.” The systems also help conserve energy as well as water. “Our XLE membranes are able to produce the needed amounts of water quality using smaller horsepower pumps than some other RO systems, which results in less energy being used,” Perryman explains.
HyperLogic builds these high-efficiency systems to last, so growers can keep using them with confidence.
HyperLogic is well known for their exceptional commitment to customer service. They have an app that customers can use to help keep track of maintenance and renewables, or if they need immediate help. Additionally, when a grower purchases a filtration system, they also get owner’s manuals and a quick-start guide for the equipment.
