Alan Jones, owner of Manor View Farm in Monkton, Md., received the Award of Merit from the Eastern Region of the International Plant Propagators' Society. The award is the highest honor the Eastern Region can bestow upon a member.
Jason Gardner joined the U.S. marketing team of Becker Underwood as a product manager for greenhouse, nursery, fruits, vines, and specialty agricultural markets. Gardner has a background in the greenhouse and nursery industry and earned a master's of agriculture degree from New Mexico State University.
Andy Lee joined Valent U.S.A. Corp. as vice president and chief operating officer. In his new position, Lee will oversee day-to-day operations for the company's growing agricultural, professional and consumer products business units in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Marie McConnell and Bill Weaver joined the sales staff at Lake County Nursery in Perry, Ohio. The two combined have more than 30 years of experience working in all facets of the green industry.
Rick Anderson was appointed president at Anderson Die & Manufacturing (Anderson Pots). He most recently worked as vice president. His background includes a business and technology degree from Oregon State University and an MBA from Portland State University.
The Maumee Valley Growers Association (MVGA) in northwest Ohio hired Joe Perlaky as consultant for the organization. He will provide advisory services related to MVGA's activities.
J&D Manufacturing promoted Terry Lyons to vice president of sales, marketing and engineering. He previously worked as the company's sales and marketing manager since 2007.
