This month GIE Media launches our new Hort News App, a new mobile app designed to bring together all the latest news from not just Greenhouse Management but also our sister publications in GIE Media’s Horticulture Group – Garden Center, Nursery Management, Lawn & Landscape and Golf Course Industry. It’s just one more way that GM continues to blaze a trail in its 30th anniversary year, and we hope you’re excited about it, as well. But that’s not even all of the excitement we have for you this month. We recently increased our circulation to include the Canadian market, so we’re now reaching all of North America. With new readers and an expanded audience, we wanted to explore our neighbors to the North, and this month we’re giving you a glance at the Canadian greenhouse market in our cover story so you can learn where the big growing areas are, what they’re producing and some of the issues they face. Be assured, this is only the tip of the iceberg, and in the future we’re excited to start digging in deeper and exploring that market even more. We’ve also got some other great reads to assist you in running your operations. We talked to three growing media companies and picked their brains about what they thought was important for you to know right now. For the case study this month, we talked to Kaw Valley Greenhouses about how promotional pots helped them create a unified brand. Also, contributing writer Kate Field explores some out-of-the-box ideas to help grow your greenhouse business, and the team at The Ohio State University shares some great information on how to prevent ethylene damage and maximize your crops. We hope you find some great tips for your greenhouse this month, and if you do, drop us a line and let us know what you liked. If you didn’t like something, I want to hear that, too. We’re here to help you, so the more you tell us, the better we can respond to what’s going on in the market and provide solutions for the challenges you face.
