Cleaner and degreaser
Mean Green Industrial Strength Cleaner & Degreaser offers a blend of biodegradable detergents specially formulated for greenhouse/florist cleaning applications. With 40 percent more cleaning ingredients, 30 percent more solvents and 20 percent more surfactants, it dissolves grease, grime and stains from metal, painted surfaces, fabric, concrete and more. It’s also ideal for use with pressure washers. Mean Green’s proprietary formula has a slow evaporation rate so it doesn’t emit harmful fumes. Growers can purchase Mean Green in a variety of sizes, ranging from 32-ounce trigger spray bottles to 55-gallon drums.

Fertilizer/chemical injector maintenance kit
The Mini Maintenance Kit from Dosatron includes wear parts, Dosa-Klean and new product Dosa-Lube for the 11, 14, 20, 40 and 100 GPM injectors. Soaking fertilizer and chemical injector parts in Dosa-Klean for 24 to 48 hours cleans rust, mineral deposits and calcifications without scrubbing. Dosa-Lube, a convenient-sized packet of silicone, is designed to easily lubricate static seals and o-rings while changing wear parts.

Insecticide
Pylon TR total release insecticide controls mites, thrips and adult fungus gnats. Using BASF’s total release technology — commonly known as aerosol foggers — it is packaged in small canisters. Growers will place the product in the greenhouse, close the vents, windows and doors, and then press the release button and leave for a specified amount of time. One 2-ounce canister of this insecticide will treat up to 3,000 square feet.

Herbicide
Featuring a new active ingredient — indaziflam — Marengo from OHP is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that offers long-term residual control of both grassy and broadleaf leaves. The active ingredient indaziflam is from the MOA Group 29 and prevents weed seed germination by inhibiting cellulose biosynthesis. Once applied to the soil, it does not move or volatilize. Marengo is registered for use on production ornamentals grown in outdoor nurseries, shade houses and hoop houses.

Mum netting
Grolink’s Mum Netting is designed to prevent breakage of garden mums and poinsettias, and are a cost-effective way to eliminate shrink in production and retail. Plants supported with the netting ship and sell better, and last longer in the landscape. The netting comes in two different sizes; the 17-inch size is for use on smaller plants, while the 23-inch netting is for 12-inch and larger containers. Each roll of 17-inch netting yields 1,100 pieces, and the 23-inch roll yields approximately 850 pieces. Grolink also offers a rewinder/cutter that allows cutting up to 5,000 pieces of netting per hour.

Shade cloth

Herbicidal soap
The AXXE Weed & Grass Control is a non-selective herbicidal soap for organic gardening. It will exterminate grasses and weeds that may be found in patios, walkways and driveways. Available from BioSafe Systems, it can also be used for spot treatment. AXXE Weed & Grass Control is biodegradable and will not migrate through soil to harm surrounding plants. It can be used on weeds and grasses such as chickweed, liverwort, crabgrass, dandelion, ragweed and more. Visible results may be seen in hours on algae and moss. It’s available in a 32 fl. oz. ready-to-spray, 32 fl. oz. tip-n-pour concentrate and 1 gallon concentrate.
