These are exciting times for B2B publishers willing and able to embrace the future. Thankfully, this magazine’s publisher, GIE Media and its Horticulture Group, falls squarely in that category as evidenced by the recent launch of the Greenhouse Management interactive digital app for mobile device users, now available on the Apple app store. In contrast to other B2B organizations, GIE remains committed to innovating within the traditional realm of print while breaking new ground in digital media. The GM app is the latest such innovation. Unlike digital flip-book experiences, the interactive app brings you animated advertisements that tell stories about products and services; user-friendly swipe features (digital Easter eggs, if you will) that take you well beyond the articles themselves and into worlds of hidden content such as websites, white papers, and videos; and dynamic graphics that truly make this publication come alive. In short, our designers, editors, and contributing writers will, each month bring you one heckuva disruptive experience. But, hey, don’t take my word for it, visit your app store today and check it out for yourself. Then let us know what you think. A couple of months ago I had the privilege of introducing myself on this page in “Greetings from the New Guy” (December, page 6). This month I have the pleasure of introducing our most recent new guy: Chris Mosby. Formerly with Northeast Ohio Media Group, Chris is the newly named assistant editor of Greenhouse Management and Produce Grower. He brings with him the experience gained from reporting on local news for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Cleveland affiliate of National Public Radio. His duties will include overseeing GM’s social media efforts, news reporting and feature writing. He can be reached at cmosby@gie.net. Chris and I, along with the entire GIE Media Horticulture editorial team, are committed to delivering the content you rely on to help you succeed across our many print and digital channels. Stay tuned. Joe Jancsurak, Editor | jjancsurak@gie.net |
