After months of planning and publicity, Cultivate’14 (www.cultivate14.org) – the show formerly known as the OFA Ohio Short Course – is just weeks away. By the looks of the educational program, the exhibitor list, the networking sessions, the workshops and the tours, the reality is not only going to live up to the hype: it’s bound to surpass all expectations when the hort industry convenes in Columbus, July 12-15. Greenhouse Management and our sister publications are working side by side with AmericanHort and are the proud sponsors of several areas at Cultivate’14 where you’ll have a chance to: Celebrate! Step outside for some fresh air and live music and join your friends and colleagues at the BloomaPalooza reception, Sunday, July 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. What a great way to end the first day of the show and celebrate your industry. Learn! Join our staff from Produce Grower on the first-ever vegetable production tour. We’ll be heading to R.O. Apelt Sons and CropKing to check out controlled-environment edible crop production. The tour will take place July 12 and will be essential to those of you who are considering devoting more resources and greenhouse space to growing produce. Listen! Our editorial staff will be conducting live interviews throughout the show from the Grower Radio Network & Retail Radio Network podcast booth located in the Live for Growers Zone area in the center corridor of the convention center. You can listen to podcasts we’ve already broadcast on iTunes and our websites. Interact! Stop by the Innovation Zone where our editorial team will be conducting sessions on how to get the most from your iPad, and reviewing the best apps in the industry to help your business. There’s no denying tablets are here to stay and our team is ready to help you make the most of your device. Get Excited! The New Varieties Zone, also sponsored by the GIE Media Horticulture publications, will include 750 of the newest introductions from all of the major plant breeders. We’ll also provide the exclusive take home supplement which will highlight all the newest varieties. This is a great opportunity to see new colors and features and begin your 2015 planning. We’re excited to partner with AmericanHort and help make this a must attend event, and we can’t wait to see you next month in Columbus. Drop by booth 1802 or just say “Hi” when you see us on the show floor.
