The 12X5RD from Western Pulp Products is a ready-to-plant container that has nine 1-inch diameter holes in the bottom. Ideal for use as a drop-in liner for decorative planters, it can also be placed in flower beds. Made of recycled paper, the molded fiber container can be composted or rototilled into the flower bed when the season is over. SERVICE #51

Hangers for hanging baskets
The Clip-on Nylon Hanger from Western Pulp Products is a new, easy-to-install clip-on hanger for Western’s 10- and 12-inch hanging baskets. Western says the hanger was developed with input from its customers and field-tested across the U.S. and Canada. It eliminates the need for baskets with eyelets. SERVICE #52

Plasma lighting
Solar Genesis is plasma horticulture lighting from Chameleon Grow Systems. The company says Solar Genesis includes full-spectrum nutritional light energy, a longer lifespan, less heat and electrical usage, and a higher return on investment compared to traditional high-intensity light. The lights include salt water corrosion resistance, wet location rating, camera-quality optics, aircraft-quality construction and a 10-year limited warranty. Chameleon Grow Systems also says that research shows that plasma lighting produces better vegetables than traditional greenhouse lighting, and it is focusing on third-party research to validate the technology. Sprinkler
The Inverted Micro-Sprinkler from Senninger is designed specifically for greenhouses and hoophouses. It delivers gentle droplets in a consistent uniform pattern, even in single row installations. It features Senninger’s color-coded nozzle size identification, incorporating the nozzle and base in one unit. Its multiple connection options make it possible to retrofit existing systems, and its bridgeless design minimizes dripping. It also has an engineering-grade UV-resistant thermoplastic construction, and the product design allows for convenient disassembly for field maintenance, as well as replacement of individual parts. Valve
The One Touch Valve from Dramm eliminates the strain of squeezing to turn the water on and off. It’s made of a zinc die-cast body with a rubber over mold and brass threads, and its nylon valve components ensure a longer life without leaking.
