| As I’m writing this, GIE Media, Greenhouse Management’s parent company, has been in its new digs in Valley View, Ohio, for a little over a month. We’ve all been settling in to our new surroundings and personalizing our individual spaces a little more each day. I finally felt more settled in once I brought in some funky succulents for my windowsill, and it was like Christmas morning when the office plant company delivered larger indoor plants and the whole office became flush with green. My new office mate Aglaonema ‘Silver Bay’ (check out that foliage!) brightens the whole space. All of the sudden, we were at home in the office, and it was the plants that made the difference.
This month’s issue features 10 growers who stand out from the crowd for their own reasons. We’ve made sure to include small and larger growers from all over North America, as we know that you, our readers, are also a diverse group. Take a look at the section starting on page 13. Do you know someone who is also doing great things in their operation? Drop me a line at kvarga@gie.net and let me know about it. For those of you I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, I would like to extend my warmest greetings and thank you for reading Greenhouse Management. We’ve got a lot of changes in store for you to make your experience with us even better, and I look forward to getting to know you soon. Humbly yours,

As editor of Greenhouse Management and Garden Center magazines, I have the good fortune of getting an inside look at both growers and retailers producing and selling plants like my new office mate, from mom and pop shops to small chains and greenhouses that stretch across the horizon. One of my takeaways from the last few years is that no matter the business’ size, there is something to be learned from each one.
