Mycorrhizal inoculants
PRO-MIX PUR Powder and PRO-MIX PUR Granular inoculants contain contaminant-free mycorrhizae and provide growers improved nutrient and water uptake, increased plant survival rate, resistance and crop vigor. From Premier Tech Horticulture, the company says the two products come with one of the highest mycorrhizae concentrations available in the market. PRO-MIX PUR can be used for fruit and vegetable transplants, and greenhouse vegetable and medicinal crops. SERVICE #44
Hose nozzle
The 1000PL-N Green Narrow Soft Flow Water Breaker from Dramm allows for direct, soft watering in the greenhouse or nursery. It’s ideal for edge watering, containers and earlier stages of growth, and can also be used for watering baskets automatically. The water breaker has a focused pattern that ensures water gets through the canopy but not disturb the media in the container. SERVICE #45
Photosynthesis meter
The miniPPM from EARS Plant Photosynthesis Monitoring measures chlorophyll fluorescence, a weak optical signal emitted by the plant. Growers can use the meter to determine plant health, such as whether a crop is stressed from excess light or water shortage, or if a weed is dying off. The measurement takes less than a second. For those who conduct research there are advanced models. The miniPPM-300 automatically measures a complete photosynthesis-light curve and produces a corresponding measuring report. SERVICE #46
Fungicide
Orvego fungicide from BASF contains a combination chemistry that combats all major downy mildews and Phytophthora species during the infectious stages. Fighting pathogens with dimethomorph and ametoctradin as active ingredients, it has shown fungicide cross-resistance and is labeled for use on production ornamentals in greenhouses, lath houses, container and field nurseries and interior spaces. The new fungicide has been reformulated from a wettable powder in a water-soluble bag to a new water-dispersible granule formulation known. Medallion WDG offers broad spectrum activity, and Syngenta says it’s the only fungicide in its chemical class. It protects and slows development of diseases such as alternaria, botrytis, rhizoctonia, fusarium, sclerotium and cylindrocladium spp. SERVICE #49
