Stir fans J&D Manufacturing is offering a series of 18-inch stir fans with two guard options and a single or variable speed motor option. The fans’ wide guard spacing reduces buildup and allows for easy cleaning. The fans create uniform temperatures throughout the greenhouse, helping reduce heating costs. The versatile mounting bracket allows for easy tilt and swivel of fan to easily change direction and angle of air movement. The enclosed, maintenance free, direct drive high efficiency motors are covered by a full two-year warranty. To satisfy horticultural applications, a white powder coated OSHA approved guard is now available for fans that are mounted below 7 feet. READER SERVICE # 45 |

Metering pumps Neptune Chemical Pump Co. has designed its Series 500, Series 7000 and Series PZ metering pumps for use with alternative power sources. The Series 500 and 7000 pumps can be fitted with 12-volt motors that run off the 12-volt system of gasoline- or diesel-driven irrigation pumps. The common alternative power source for the Series PZ pumps is solar power because of the pump’s low power draw. READER SERVICE #48 |

Insert tray Proptek is offering a 72-cell insert tray designed specifically to hold inserts or stabilized media plugs including Ellepots, Fertil, Jiffy, Glue Plugs, Oasis, Preforma and Super Seedling. The injection-molded tray has an open side to the cells for air pruning the roots and to also improve aeration and drainage. The 10.5-inch wide by 21-inch long by 2.75-inch deep tray prevents root circling and its feet elevate the tray off the ground to allow air flow and eliminate the need for air pruning benching. Its Slot and Rib design enables the trays to stack and nest. The trays can be filled and stacked before use. Each cell has a central hole for easy safe ejection of plugs from below. The company is also developing tray sizes with different cell counts and cell depths, including a 50-cell tray. READER SERVICE #50 |
