Hanging basket liners Angel Moss hanging basket liners from Discoveries in Gardening start out dry and paper-like, but when they are wet they take shape. Angel Moss liners can hold up to 20 times their own weight in water. The liners release water when the surrounding potting mix dries out. This process ensures plants still receive water on the days they are not irrigated. Because of their absorptive properties, the liners reduce leaching and fertilizer runoff, releasing nutrients over time. The liners also have a high zinc content in the form of a naturally occurring antibiotic called Sphagnol, which helps to control anaerobic bacteria that can cause root rot. The preformed liners fit most baskets or basket and liner sets. READER SERVICE #55 |
