Greenhouse coverings
Griffolyn Greenhouse Covers from Reef Industries Inc. have superior strength and provide protection against snow, harsh winds and unwanted light transmission. Griffolyn is manufactured using a ultraviolet stabilizing additive to extend the cover life. The covers will not rip, tear or fray so they have a long life expectancy, allowing significant cost savings through fewer replacements. They are available in clear, white and black with 80-, 30- and 0-percent light transmission.

Sprayer
Dramm Corp. has redesigned its Coldfogger Low Volume Sprayer to increase speed and efficacy. The CF20-150 Coldfogger is a 3,000-pound-per-square-inch sprayer that offers several enhancements over previous models. The tank size has increased to 20 gallons. The agitation pump is more vigorous and aides in priming the spray pump. The unit uses Dramm’s convex reel for less bird nesting of hose. There is a choice in wheel options for various terrains. Disease, algae control
Xeroton-3 from Phyton Corp. can be used as a fungicide and bactericide on a many ornamentals, flowering plants, bulbs, cuttings, seedlings, nursery stock and trees. Use it as a fungicide and algaecide on greenhouse structures and surfaces. It contains the active ingredients hydrogen peroxide, peroxyacetic acid and octanoic acid. It prevents and controls algae, Alternaria, Anthracnose, black spot, Botrytis, downy mildew, Erwinia, Fusarium, leaf spot, Pseudomonas, Pythium, Phytophthora, powdery mildew, Rhizoctonia, rust, scab, smut, Thielaviopsis, Xanthomonas, wilts and blights. Herbicide sprayers
Mankar Distributing Inc. is offering Ultra Low Volume sprayers that deliver a very precise, sharp delivery of herbicides with a minimal risk of drift. The average weight of the carry models fully loaded with chemical is less than 8 pounds. All carry sprayers come with a shoulder strap.

Coir pots, peat
Coir Green offers a variety of coir products, including pots and peat. The pots, available in a variety of sizes, are made from coir fiber and a natural rubber adhesive. The pots remain stable above ground for a year and biodegrade in the soil after six weeks. Since the pots can be planted directly into the ground there is no transplanting shock.
Coir peat is produced from coconut husks and can be added to growing mixes at a rate of 10-50 percent. It has a pH of 5-7 and 20-25 percent moisture content. Some of the benefits of incorporating coir peat include less frequent watering, improved nutrient retention and reduced fertilizer needs. READER SERVICE #48
Biodegradable pots
CowPots from Liquid Fence Co. are made with 100-percent-renewable composted cow manure and can be planted directly into the ground. The pots are available in 3- and 4-inch square, 5-inch square and round and 6-cell packs for flats. CowPots stay intact for at least 12 weeks depending on the growing environment and irrigation methods. CowPots hold water well and breakdown quickly once planted. Within 3 to 4 weeks decomposition is underway, virtually eliminating transplant shock and allowing plants to establish themselves immediately. READER SERVICE #49
