Honors
Valerie Pence, director of plant research, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW), Cincinnati, received the Conservation Star Award by the Center for Plant Conservation for her work with imperiled plants of the United States.
 
Walter Gardens, Zeeland, Mich., was awarded first place for its consumer website, www.perennialresource.com, by the National Agri-Marketing Association.
 
2010 Nature Hills Nursery Green America Award winners: Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland, grand prize; SEEDS Program, Durham, N.C., first place; Gifford Park Community Garden, Omaha, Neb., second place.
