FlowZone Typhoon 3 Battery Powered Backpack Sprayer
The newest of FlowZone’s battery-powered sprayers can deliver liquid defense straight to your plants at a rate of up to 1 gallon per minute. Released in 2023, the 4-gallon backpack sprayer offers range to greenhouse workers treating plants manually by giving them a 3-hour spray time on a single charge of the lithium-ion battery. Adjustable pressure allows the Typhoon a pressure output between 7 and 115 psi. The unit comes with a detachable sprayer hose for increased serviceability and a range of nozzles, from a 45-degree fan to a 0-degree pin stream. Users give the sprayer an average of 5 stars in certified reviews and call out the durability, longevity and comfort. One orchardist user offers, “The spray power this thing exerts has cut my orchard spray time by at least 25%. It’s an extremely well-engineered piece, and the harness hip and sternum belts easily enable a 4-gallon portage on my hillside planted trees.” Another user reports, “This sprayer has everything, and it is built like a tank, and the pressure is awesome.”

1620 Workwear: Lightweight NYCO Hooded Long Sleeve
1620 Workwear has just released new gear perfect for spring temps that swing between hot and cold, or for employees transitioning from warm greenhouse to parked car. The lightweight NYCO hooded long sleeve, made in North Carolina, isn’t constructed from a standard fabric blend. NYCO is shorthand for CORDURA-brand nylon fabric that offers durability with a cotton feel, according to 1620. The fabric offers UPF 50+ sun protection and a wicking finish. The brand also claims the fabric dries two-and-a-half times faster than cotton, making it a perfect selection for wet greenhouse work. Structurally, the hoodie features a fit that is roomier in the chest and shoulders and keeps skin covered while working, whether tucked or untucked. Stealth pockets round out a feature set to keep cold hands free from the breeze. It’s workwear that offers protection from sun and chills over the turbulent spring months.
