Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Inc. has recently announced the launch of its new Blue grama grass Bouteloua gracilis ‘Honeycomb’ PPAF. This variety is an adaptable and showy form of native grass with a wide distribution. Its honey gold inflorescence has yellow pollen hanging down on the eyelash, and flowers begin in July and hold on into winter. The thin, upright wire-like stems hold thin grey green foliage on low clumps. The plant prefers a well-drained, to dry soil in full sun and is hardy in Zones 4-9.
