About a year ago in this space, I introduced myself as the new editorial director of this publication, as well sister pubs Produce Grower and Nursery Management. I’ve been at the helm of Nursery Management for many years and have recently passed the baton to Matt McClellan. Consequently, I will now serve as head editor of Greenhouse Management and Produce Grower. It’s an exciting change and I look forward to reconnecting with many of you and meeting some of you for the first time!
If I’m lucky enough to stick around another several years, and you’re kind enough to read my column, you’ll likely hear more about my intense love of The Beatles. After listening to them my entire life (no exaggeration, I heard them in the womb), I’ve realized the lyrics of Fab Four songs contain excellent advice for all sorts of issues. As we navigate the topsy-turvy waters of the current market, who couldn’t use some encouragement?
“Don’t carry the world upon your shoulder”
“I get by with a little help from my friends”
“And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on ‘til tomorrow
Let it be.”
And my personal favorite …
“And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make”
Stay kind, stay connected and help people as often as you can.
