Northeast Greenhouse Conference and Expo to hold sessions in Spanish
The 2021 Northeast Greenhouse Conference and Expo will offer several different educational sessions in Spanish.
The event is scheduled for Nov. 3 and 4, 2021 at the Boxboro Regency Hotel in Boxborough, Massachusetts.
The sessions that will be presented in Spanish include:
American Horticultural Society announces speaker series
The American Horticultural Society has announced a new national speaker series featuring current and past Great American Gardeners Award Winners and Book Award Winners. Since 1953, the AHS has been using these award programs to recognize and celebrate horticultural champions that represent the best in American gardening. The launch of this new dedicated webinar series will provide an additional spotlight on these outstanding individuals.
The 2021-2022 speakers include Karen Washington (2018 Urban Beautification Award), Michael J. Balick, Ph.D. (2020 H. Marc Cathey Award honoring excellence in scientific research) and Shane Smith (2012 Professional Award honoring excellence in public garden administration).
Bailey announces Emergent Communicator Award
Bailey has announced that Ryan McEnaney, Bailey’s marketing & communications manager, received the Emergent Communicator Award at the 2021 GardenComm Conference.
This award recognizes a member under the age of 40 who demonstrates exceptionally high degrees of skill, professional ethics and dedication to the GardenComm mission and values.
“Ryan has been an active member since joining GardenComm,” said GardenComm President Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp. “He brings enthusiasm for and insight to communicating with the public about activities we love: Plants and gardening.”
