From FreshPlaza: As part of AYCO Farm’s growth strategy, the company has fashioned a comprehensive greenhouse produce program. AYCO has acquired procurement and greenhouse production in the four leading Mexican growing regions in Mexico. Through its partnerships in these production areas Ayco will ship over three million cases this coming winter season.
“These new products are part of our new vision,” says Avi Nir, CEO of AYCO. “We have chosen arenas in which we can maximize our grower knowledge and farming controls from the ground up. We only get involved if we are in control of the production.”
In addition to the Mexico production, AYCO will offer an organic greenhouse line put together with corporate contacts in Europe and Israel. Shipments begin in the next four to six months. “The greenhouse production offers additional flexibility and options for our customers,” says Nir.
