The Envu Ornamentals business has added Janna Beckerman to its Green Solutions Team (GST) to provide technical support for greenhouse and nursery growers across the country.
Before joining Cary, North Carolina-based Envu, Beckerman was a professor and extension specialist at Purdue University for 20 years and at the University of Minnesota for four years.
“Janna brings a wealth of knowledge to the Green Solutions Team,” says Green Solutions Team Specialist Zac Reicher. “Members of GST translate innovative research into practical, real-word solutions for tough ornamental and turfgrass pests and stress — while looking for new ways to manage the challenges the industry faces.”
Beckerman received her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University. She is known for her presentations on botany and plant pathology, nearly 80 refereed publications and as editor-in-chief of the Midwest Fruit Pest Management Guide.
“Envu shows a commitment to excellence in horticulture, which aligns perfectly with my passion for plants and dedication to advancing the field,” Beckerman says. “At Envu, we believe beautiful environments have the power to improve the health of society. So, I am honored to be part of this global team and partner with nursery and greenhouse growers to limit the weeds, insects and diseases that hinder the growth of their flowers and plants so that we can be a force with nature — shaping a world where humanity and nature both thrive.”
Envu, founded in 2022, offers dedicated services in professional pest management, forestry, ornamentals, golf, industrial vegetation management, lawn & landscape, mosquito management and range & pasture. The company employs nearly 900 people and operates in more than 100 countries with four global innovation hubs.
