
A 4,072 sq. ft. green wall, the largest in North America, has been unveiled at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. The 15-foot high wall system, which was provided by GSky Plant Systems, contains 47,000 plants. The majority of 25 species are ferns, including holly fern, rabbit’s foot fern, button fern, asparagus fern and maidenhair fern. The plants were produced by Michaels Nursery in Boynton Beach, Fla., and installed by interior landscaper Ambius.
The wall consists of 3,595 panels and is equipped with 3,800 linear feet of drip irrigation line. It took 2,520 man hours to install the wall.
