Monrovia will be at Cultivate'24 with a behind-the-scenes look into their tools and techniques.
“Our Field Station will share the Monrovia story behind our difference,” says Katie Tamony, CMO and trend spotter at Monrovia. “From working with breeders around the world — and extensive trialing of new varieties — to a look at our special soil mixes and beneficials programs, we are highlighting the care and expertise it takes to bring the best performing plants to market.”
Visitors will also get a glimpse at the consumer research and trends that drive Monrovia’s plant selection and marketing. “We’ve just completed our 2024 consumer survey,” Tamony adds. “We are excited to help our customers prepare for 2025 with insights on the plants, projects and design styles home gardeners will be gravitating toward next season.”

Seaside Serenade Pebble Beach Hydrangea
The newest member of the Seaside Serenade hydrangea collection was chosen for its unique flowers and blooming power. The large mophead blooms of Pebble Beach are a dark purple in acidic soil and a deep pink in more alkaline soils. Each blossom is backed by a hint of bright green, adding interest and intrigue. Recommended for Zones 6-9.
Endless Hellebore
A compact, upward-facing hellebore with an extended bloom season, Endless Hellebore was selected for its abundant and long-lasting blooms, It features glossy, dark green foliage topped with upward-facing flowers that start out green and transition to white. Hellebore is a must-have plant in the "Garden of Nostalgia and Romance," a standout design trend for 2025. Zones 5-9.
Bountiful Belle Blueberry
Bountiful Belle’s new growth brings hues of icy rose and lime green. In fall and winter, it transitions to a rosy red. In summer, it is covered with delicious, plump berries. Topping out at 4 feet tall and wide, this blueberry delivers in every season. Zones 7-9.
Bountiful Baby Blueberry
Bountiful Baby Blueberry brings loads of fruit in a compact and attractive package. Covered with dainty blooms in the spring, the small fruits are sweet and plentiful. Deep green foliage turns burgundy red through the fall and winter. It's the perfect edible perennial to incorporate in the "Garden of Abundance," a growing design trend that brings pollinator plants, edibles and shrubs together to create a space teeming with life. Zones 5-9.
Bridal Veil Agapanthus
Bridal Veil Agapanthus was chosen for its unique compact habit and plentiful bright white blooms. Loads of flowers cover strong stems that reach only about a foot high. This agapanthus is perfect for mass planting or as a container showstopper. A perennial in Zones 7-11, it can be grown as an annual in cooler climates.
Sedum Evolution Pink Prism
Every waterwise garden needs a reliable sedum. Evolution Pink Prism was selected for its strong branching that doesn’t fall open during late season growth. The light green foliage stays tall with sparkling pink blooms that attract pollinators. Evolution Pink Prism tops out at 12 inches tall and 16 inches wide, thriving in partial to full sun. Zones 4-9.
Lantana Firefrost
The fiery red and yellow blooms of Lantana Firefrost capture attention in the garden. This perennial variety is exceptionally cold hardy to Zone 7, showing root hardiness to 0°F. This naturally spreading lantana grows to about 18 inches tall and 36 inches wide. It’s evergreen in frost-free areas.
Chateau de Saumur Rose of Sharon
With fluffy peony-like flowers, this fast-growing Hibiscus syriacus quickly reaches 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide. It is recommended for Zones 5-9.
Tectonic Begonias
Add the feel of a tropical oasis to the garden with Monrovia’s Tectonic Begonia series, from Tectonic Caldera’s giant, glossy heart-shaped leaves to the finely cut foliage of Tectonic Eruption. There are six different begonias to choose from, each discovered by world-renowned plant hunter Dan Hinkley.
Golden Child Eastern Arborvitae
A standout in Monrovia's trials, Golden Child Eastern Arborvitae showed excellent heat and sun tolerance and great garden performance. This easy-to-grow, compact, globe-shaped arborvitae literally glows in the garden with finely cut foliage. It handles summer sun with little input, and in the winter, the foliage takes on bronze hues. Zones 5-9.
