Michigan State University is now offering growers the chance to achieve four MDARD recertification credits via recorded online programs and webinars.
Michigan growers must pass an exam to become a certified pesticide applicator. Then they must pass a recertification exam every three years, or they may alternately renew their certification by garnering educational recertification credits.
Private applicators need 16 private core credits and commercial applicators needs eight commercial core credits and eight additional credits for each category in which they are certified.
The MSU Integrated Pest Management Academy Webinars, a series of eight, half-hour, recorded online programs have been approved for a total of four MDARD recertification credits. Applicators can view these programs at any time, at their own pace, and claim one credit for every two webinars completed.
