OHP, Inc. has announced a label expansion for the greenhouse and
nursery fungicide Segway
O that allows the product to be used for control of pythium, phythophthora and
downy mildew on certain greenhouse-grown vegetables and herbs transplants.
"We wanted to give users more flexibility with Segway O because
of the success of the product on non-food ornamentals in the greenhouse and
nursery,” said Dan Stahl, OHP vice president and general manager. "It's a
very timely label addition with the exponential growth in the greenhouse-grown
vegetable and herb segments.”
Containing the active ingredient cyazofamid, Segway O is an alternative
to commonly used fungicides where widespread resistance to the water mold
diseases has developed, noted Dr. Carlos Bográn, OHP manager technical services.
Segway O is labeled for use on greenhouse-grown tomatoes,
greenhouse-grown bell peppers, and greenhouse-grown herbs such as basil and
others in Subgroup A. Segway O carries a 0-day PHI.
The revised Segway O label has new EPA registration numbers that
users should note. Package and case size are unchanged.
