During the 2011 Proflora Trade Show in Bogota (Colombia), Selecta Cut Flowers launched a gypsophila brand called Pearls. Its purpose is to bring together the company’s top gypsophila performers and promote them under the umbrella of one brand.
“Our intensive gypsophila breeding program focuses on products that meet the highest standards: energy-saving varieties with long-lasting vase life and outstanding field performance” said Menachem Bornstein, the breeder of Pearls varieties.
According to Jordi Caballeria, general manager of Selecta Cut Flowers, Pearls varieties are selected for superior performance regionally and nationally. “This series features the newest generation of gypsophila with more advantages and different habits to choose from. Many hectares of Pearls are already planted in our main markets, such as Ecuador, Israel and Kenya. Because of the quick development, especially in Japan, and the great feedback from the growers, we decided to start with a marketing campaign in order to support our customers” said Caballeria.
Pearls is the first gypsophila series in the industry and includes the following varieties: Ginga, Blossom and Celebration. Professionally designed point-of-purchase materials are available for the brand. For more information visit www.selectacutflowers.com.
