Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird visits Plantpeddler

Plantpeddler hosted Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird for a greenhouse facility tour and discussion with the Plantpeddler team March 21.

During the tour of both Plantpeddler production sites, discussion covered a variety of topics, including horticulture’s role in value-added agriculture, the opportunities to diversify and grow production within the state and risk management for growers.

Bird grew up on a farm near Dexter, Iowa. She earned her bachelor's degree from Drake University and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 2001. After working in larger legal firms, Bird served as counsel to Governor Terry Branstad before becoming county attorney for Guthrie County, Iowa, in 2018. She ran against Attorney General Tom Miller in the 2022 Iowa general election, narrowly defeating Miller, who had served 10 four-year terms in the position.

Bird lives with her husband and their son on her family farm in southeastern Guthrie County.
