RISE 30th Annual Meeting goes virtual amid coronavirus pandemic

The online event will take place in August and September of this year.

The RISE Annual Meeting is the organization’s largest event of the year — and this year the group celebrates 30 years in business, per an industry-wide email disseminated by Megan Provost, RISE president.

After discussions with its members, its committees, and its Governing Board regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, RISE has decided to hold its first-ever Virtual RISE Annual Meeting.

This year's virtual meeting will include:

• Aug. 25: Opening general session — Tune in to hear Megan Provost’s first RISE presidential address; a political analysis on the 2020 presidential election; the latest information on RISE’s 2021-2026 strategic plan, and much more.

• Aug. 25-26: Committee meetings — All of the RISE committee members are invited to discuss the details of its next strategic plan and its implementation.

• August-September: Opportunities to engage — Even though RISE won’t be meeting in person, there will be many opportunities to engage virtually, ranging from a virtual happy hour and a virtual golf tournament to virtual volunteering supporting Hands On Atlanta. More details forthcoming.

• September: Educational webinar series — Learn more about the work of RISE and some of its advocacy topics in-depth through a series of short webinars.
