Sisyrinchium ‘Blue Note’

A funky little native of the southeast United States, 'Blue Note' is our selection of Sisyrinchium angustifolium noted for its generous quantity of violet-blue flowers and dark green grass-like foliage. It is a clump-forming, evergreen perennial typically growing to 12" tall. An abundance of eye-catching violet-blue flowers (to 1/2" across) appear in late spring to early summer.

'Blue Note' is a well tested selection of blue-eyed grass that is more compact than other named varieties.  An excellent plant for garden borders, mixed plantings or rock gardens. Best grown with medium moisture and well-drained soils but does tolerate dry conditions. For best flowering grow in full sun to light shade.

Important Note: Although we placed this plant in our ornamental grass category and the foliage is grass-like, the blue-eyed grass is actually an Iris. Thankfully, the grasses have accepted them into their group and understand the limitations of human intelligence.
